8th FEBRUARY @ COLLIE
Wed, 11 Feb 2009TRAKADDICTZ
Last Sunday was a typical summers day in Collie, the breeze was light, the track was dry and warm and better still the grip was sensational.
To our surprise we were to arrive on the same day as the annual Collie “BURN OUT” competition.
All manner of sedans and wagons had been modified to burn rubber and blow out tyres in attempt to win the trophies and cash prizes on offer.
The obvious outcome was that the venue was blanketed in white smoke and oil from blown motors, with shredded tyre parts and water from fire hoses left in our usual set up bays.
To those TRACKADDICTZ that left the venue to camp elsewhere overnight, all I can say is that the majority of the participants in this competition left on dark and those who stayed behind were well behaved and left early in the morning.
To ensure that we can always arrive to a motorcycle only environment each time we head to Collie, we will be asking that we are made aware of events like this in the future, so that we can make our bookings to suit.
Apologies to anyone who was put out by this event, and assurance to our new attendees to Collie, that we are usually the only people at the track from 5pm Saturday onwards when we have a Sunday booking.
Thanks
